Acne

  • One of the most common skin concerns is acne/enlarged pores. These can be caused due to a variety of reasons like hormonal changes, diet, skincare, and more.

What is acne?

Acne is when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells, that result in the formation of pimples, blackheads, or whiteheads on the skin.

What causes acne?

Acne can be caused by a variety of factors, including hormonal changes, genetics, certain medications, lifestyle, and even dietary changes/allergies. Some severe types of acne may require a dermatologist or other professional treatments, a consultation will determine the best treatment.

What treatments does Freya's offer for acne?

  • Facials & Chemical peel/VI Peel: A series of either treatment will help to exfoliate dead skin and kill the acne causing bacteria. These also include extractions if needed.
  • Bellafill: A collagen and elastin stimulating injectable that when used for acne will hydrate and heal the skin. Prevents acne scars with the stimulation on collagen and elastin.
  • MicroTox: Active acne and enlarged pores can be treated with MicroTox to reduce inflammation and pore size/oil production.
  • PRP:  This contains growth factors that can help reduce inflammation, promote collagen production, and improve overall skin health. When applied to acne-prone skin, PRP can potentially help reduce acne scarring, improve skin texture, and enhance the skin's natural healing process.
  • Morpheus 8: This treatment stimulates collagen production with the help of microneedling and Radio Frequency. That can  improve skin texture, kill bacteria, reducing acne scarring, and promoting overall skin rejuvenation. The microneedles create tiny punctures in the skin, allowing the radiofrequency energy to penetrate deeper layers and stimulate collagen remodeling. This process can help improve acne-prone skin by reducing inflammation, shrinking oil glands, and promoting skin healing.
  • Medical grade skincare: A concentrated product that is customized for your skin and sensitivities, these will be crucial in between treatments.
