We’re so thrilled to introduce our 4 Step Body Loss Therapy treatment to give you the real results you want this year.

There’s no need to wait until New Year’s to start on your weight loss journey when you can achieve your goals starting right now!

The following treatments can help you lose up to 8 inches of body fat--that’s four pants sizes!

Lipo-Light Advanced Therapy

Lipo-Light is the latest in non-invasive body-contouring treatments. It’s a safe way to burn fat, slim and sculpt the body, which promotes  tissue metabolism and blood circulation, strengthen skin elasticity. It also provides anti-aging for the face and body.

Lipo-Light is a light emitting diode system that causes the fat cell membranes to temporarily alter the permeability of the cell, allowing the fat contents to seep out from the cell into the interstitial space for removal by the lymphatic system.

You’ll see immediate results from Lipo-Light after just one treatment. Combined with light exercise and a balanced diet, this is a wonderful alternative to painful, invasive surgeries.

Cavitation Therapy

Ultrasonic Cavitation Therapy was developed in Europe and is a new, ultrasonic fat removal procedure that doesn’t require surgery, anesthesia, a hospital stay, time off from work or recovery time. This technology converts fat cells to liquid so they can then be naturally drained through the body’s filtration system. The fat is usually eliminated within 72 hours.

Any area of the body with localized fat will benefit from this treatment. The buttocks, abdomen, upper arms and thighs are the most popular areas.

InfraRed Sauna Blanket

This procedure uses an infrared wrap to help detoxify the body of unwanted chemicals and break up fatty tissue deposits. InfraRed Sauna Blanket will help clients lose inches and reduce cellulite.  It has also been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation, and ease headaches, arthritic pain, and pain in muscles and joints. Infrared rays also help clean the body of toxins and can improve moods.

Anti-Cellulite Body Wraps

These wraps uses a revolutionary firming body creme formulated to fight skin laxity at the cellular level. Results from clinical studies show tighter and firmer looking skin with a smooth hydrated surface. The treatment reduces the appearance of skin irregularities. Up to 8 inches of body fat loss can be achieved in 6 treatments, when used with 30 minutes of walking per day and drinking 2 liters of water to flush toxins and fat cells during the therapy course.

Freya’s Lair Medical Spa is the only spa in Albuquerque combining these four therapies together to achieve the best possible results.

Regular price is $500 per treatment, but Freya’s Lair has a fall special price of $125 per session which includes all 4 treatments.

Do not miss this opportunity to lose inches and dramatically improve your appearance.

B12 injections and Oxygen drinks recommended during this course of treatments and can also be gotten during your time with us at Freya’s Lair.

As we all get ready to soak up some sun this season, I thought I would share a few tips to care for your complexion and keep your skin healthy while you enjoy the summer. Although you are subjecting yourself to sun damage really any time you expose yourself to the sun, there are many preventive measures you can take to get ready for the skin-baring season. After all, the sun also does something really important for our skin: It provides Vitamin D.

As skin cancer has become more lethal and prominent, research has progressed to determine between two different types of UV rays. UVA and UVB rays are both now known to cause sun damage and you should seek out sunscreens that state that they give protection against both.

UVA rays are common and are not as powerful as UVB rays, though they are up to 50 times more frequent during daylight hours, even when the skies are cloudy. UVA rays are also largely to blame for wrinkles and sunspots. On the other hand, UVB rays are what cause sunburns. These rays cause damage to the surface layer of the skin, while UVA rays penetrate below the surface. UVB rays are known to cause age spots, tumors and darken skin pigmentation. The majority of wrinkles are caused by the sun.

Also keep in mind that it’s important to protect your skin and nourish it all year long. But for now, let’s talk about the tops ways to keep your skin beautiful under the summer sun!

Use sunscreen!

Lather up at least 15 minutes before you go outside. Aside from also wearing a coverup and sun sat, sunblock is going to be your best defense against premature aging and unwanted impacts of sun exposure.

Water is your best friend!

Staying hydrated will help keep you cool during your time outside and will also prevent dehydration. Hydrated skin is naturally more healthy and moisturized.

Eat Well!

Not only will healthy foods help you get and stay bikini ready, but this will also keep your skin glowing! Dark, leafy greens, avocados, tomatoes, and nuts are all delicious and natural foods that your skin craves!

Keeping up with your skincare routine and exercising regularly can also help your skin stay nourished and refreshed all summer long.

A chemical peel can also benefit your skin this summer. A salicylic acid peel is a great way to clear up dead skin cells, even out discoloration and clear your pores.

We’ve got a fabulous selection of skincare products that can help you beat the heat this season. Our line of Image Skincare is a client favorite, especially the eye gel and hydrating moisturizer with SPF 30.  All of the products produce anti-aging, balance, hydrating, and illuminating results. Ask us for a free sample after your next appointment!

Get in touch with the many benefits of massage!

When was the last time you treated yourself to a massage? It can be so easy to talk ourselves out of this self-care activity because we often think of massage as pampering or consider it to be a luxury, but massages are about so much more than just blissing out!

Massage Albuquerque

We at Freya’s Lair Medical Spa are thrilled to be adding Swedish, neuromuscular, and deep tissue massage therapy to our list of services! And best of all? Right now you can get a custom facial and a full body massage for just $100! Our massage suite is located in a private room with many amenities to ensure that you have the best experience possible.

Don’t get me wrong, massages are fabulous for your emotional, spiritual and mental well-being. With all the stress of everyday life, we’re all bound to get knotted up sometimes! That said, the benefits of massage go far beyond this and may be helpful for:

Anxiety

Digestive disorders

Fibromyalgia

Headaches

Insomnia related to stress

Myofascial pain syndrome

Soft tissue strains or injuries

Sports injuries.

And the list goes on!

Let’s learn a bit more about the three unique types of massage Freya’s Lair offers.

The most common type of massage is a therapeutic massage, which is a term used to describe any type of massage that aids in the relief of pain or to reduce stress. It’s important to know that a therapeutic massage isn’t the same as a deep tissue massage. A deep tissue massage is a different experience.

Deep tissue massage focuses on the deep muscles and connective tissue in your body and help to realign them. If you suffer from chronic pain, are dealing with a new or old injury that has resulted in muscle damage, or have had reoccurring tenseness in a specific group of muscles—such as a stiff neck, sore shoulders or tightness in your lower back, this would be a great massage option for you. There will be more pressure experienced in this type of massage and it can absolutely relieve chronic muscle pain. To get the best results, we do recommend getting a series of massages to properly address all of the areas that need some TLC.

A less familiar modality of massage is neuromuscular therapy (NMT), or trigger point myotherapy. This focuses on the soft tissue and aims to stimulate skeletal striated muscle. This is a very effective treatment for back pain caused by damage to the soft issue, like a muscle strain or related injury, for instance.

The Swedish massage is much more common and is what I would recommend to first time spa-goers, or if you’re unsure about what type of massage might benefit you the most. Depending on what you and your massage therapist discuss, your Swedish massage can be slow and gentle or more vigorous. This kind of massage can both relax and energize you as your therapist uses long strokes, kneading and circular movements, and vibrations and tapping to give you the best possible experience, both emotionally and physically.

If you’re still unsure about what treatment would be best for you or have any questions, you can call us at 505.503.7381 and speak to our licensed massage therapist before scheduling your appointment.

In addition to the benefits listed above, more and more research is being published to support the idea that physical contact can actually ease symptoms of depression, lower blood pressure and help to improve immunity!

Massage therapy can easily set you on a path to taking better care of yourself and improving your overall quality of life.

I hope this post has helped you to put aside any negative or even guilty thoughts you may have had in the past about massage being an indulgent or self-spoiling activity because that’s truly not the case.

Receiving a spectacular massage is incredibly beneficial to your well-being and is just as important to maintaining a happy and healthy lifestyle as eating well and staying active. So, whether you’re recovering from an injury, looking for an effective stress-reliever, or are seeking to better manage a chronic health condition, call us today to book your massage!

Better yet, start self-care Saturdays, or whatever day of the week you can dedicate to “you time,” and commit to working in massage therapy to your routine! Grab a family member, friend or your partner and let the healing begin!

Snacks and drinks will be provided for your enjoyment as our expert team gives you all the details about fillers, Botox and Xeomin.

We’ll also be doing a drawing for two lucky people to each win a $250 certificate towards Xeomin treatments. If you have friends or family members that are also curious about getting Botox in Albuquerque and other rejuvenating procedures, bring them all! When they purchase 20 units of Xeomin you too will receive half off Xeomin for yourself!

Plus, if you buy one Radiesse you’ll receive $525 of Belotero for FREE!!!!

You can reserve your seat today by calling us at 505-503-7381.

You can read more about Botox and Xeomin HERE. And RSVP to our Facebook Event HERE.

What’s Radiesse?

Radiesse is a volumizing filler for wrinkle reduction. It provides collagen growth in your face and adds volume. It also had calcium, which supports bone loss. This filler works instantly to add volume under the skin and, when used overtime, can actually help stimulate your body’s natural collagen.

As skin ages, it loses the natural support that keeps it supple and collagen also diminishes within the skin as this natural aging process occurs, which can then result in unwanted creases and wrinkles. With Radiesse, the results are both instantaneous and long lasting!

We’ll be answering all of your questions about dermal fillers, Botox and any cosmetic procedures at the event, so don’t be shy!

What’s Belotero?

Belotero Balance is an injectable filler that works to smooth out lines and wrinkles, both moderate and severe. Though small wrinkles and stubborn lines on the face are all natural parts of aging, it doesn’t mean you have to live with them. Belotero Balance can be the perfect solution to smooth them away! It feels natural to the touch and you’ll easily be able to maintain normal movement and your full range of facial expressions.

The results are often noticeable and immediate and the treatment requires little to no downtime! If you’re interested in Belotero, we’ll be talking more about it at the Amazing May event at Freya’s Lair Medical Spa this Wednesday!

I look forward to meeting you! Here’s a little about me:

Olga Zavialova Lucero, owner of Freya’s Lair, would like to introduce you to a True European Experience of Health and Beauty Services now available here in Albuquerque to the American public.

As a Full Service Health, Wellness, and Beauty Spa, we offer a unique array of services using advanced technology and techniques to achieve the results you desire. Born and raised in Russia, Olga earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and Medical Aesthetics training in Europe and successfully practiced at hospitals and private clinics.

After moving to New Mexico, she earned her Nursing Degree and Medical Aesthetic License and for the last seven years has worked with the best plastic surgeons in New Mexico.

She has 15 years of experience with injectables, aesthetics, lasers and permanent makeup. Olga’s intent, as owner of Freya’s Lair, is to provide professional, effective and convenient personalized medical and beauty services to her clients. She has assembled an experienced and qualified team, including a physician and nurse practitioner to provide her clients with result-oriented treatments.

We look forward to offering more fun and informative events in the Albuquerque area to educate our friends and clients about the benefits of Botox and other cosmetic procedures as well as to help them feel confident in their decision to work with us on their skin journey.

Even in the year 2016, there are still limited resources available on dermal fillers and injectables as not many people want to share their experience because of the stigma that is still attached to these treatments.

It’s our goal to be a reliable resource for our community and to help celebrate inner beauty by helping you match the outside to the in.

What many people who criticize these procedures also overlook is all of the medical benefits of Botox and treatments like it.

Botox has been used to treat migraine headaches, certain eye disorders, muscle spasms and has recently been linked to aiding in the treatment of depression.

These are just a few benefits that aren’t usually explored in the media and we look forward to telling you even more about these treatments and the life-changing potential of many of the services we offer.

We’ll see you at the spa!

Botox vs. Xeomin - Which is right for you?

Botox and Xeomin are very similar, though my guess is that you’ve heard a lot about Botox and very little about Xeomin (Zee-Oh-Min).

Is Botox right for you?

Is Botox right for you?

Xeomin is the latest option for frown lines. It has been used in Europe since 2008 and received FDA approval in winter 2011.

Like Botox, Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and clinically proven to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults.

It can also treat muscle stiffness, muscle spasms, excessive sweating, overactive bladder, or loss of bladder control. Just like Botox, Xeomin can also prevent chronic migraine headaches and improve the appearance of wrinkles on the face.

Xeomin is often described as “The Naked Botox” because of the absence of the carrier proteins that are present in Botox. The lack of protein carriers can result in fewer allergic reactions or even resistance to the neurotoxin. Also, because Xeomin is free of these additives, it does not need to be refrigerated.

The application of Botox and Xeomin both work in the treatment and removal of wrinkles by paralyzing the muscles temporarily. Best of all? There’s little to no down time with either treatment!

Any minimal common side effects that can be expected are comparable to Botox,  including head ache and swollen eyes.

You should notice smoother, more wrinkle-free skin within 2 to 3 days post injection, but the full effects won’t appear for about 2 weeks. It may take as long as a month for results to peak on areas with stronger muscles, particularly in men.

Touch-ups are performed every 4 to 7 months as needed.

I would recommend Xeomin to you if you have a known protein allergy.

Here at Freya’s Lair Medical Spa, we’ve been providing the best Botox in Albuquerque for years and are pleased to offer Xeomin as an option to guests as well. If you’re unsure which treatment is right for you, you can call us to discuss each option and together we can decide which will be most beneficial for you.

All pre-treatment recommendations will be given during your free consult at Freya’s Lair Medical Spa, but it is important to remember that you can reduce and avoid bruising and bleeding by not taking aspirin, ibuprofen, or multivitamins 7 days before treatment. Instead, taking Bromelain extract tablets in the days leading up to your injections and a few days after will also help to decrease these common side effects. You’ll also received a cold pack during the treatment to help ease discomfort.

3 Common Botox Myths Debunked!

Are you considering getting Botox in Albuquerque? Botox is by far one of the most popular cosmetic treatments for many reasons and has been performed by medical professionals for over a decade. Even so, there are still several misconceptions that exist about Botox and its results.

At the end of the day, it’s really only you and your provider to decide if Botox right for you and at Freya’s Lair Medical Spa we can take you through everything you need to know about getting Botox during your complimentary consult.

But before you schedule with us, let’s start by dispelling a few of the top myths out there about Botox.

Botox Albuquerque

Myth: BOTOX Injections Are Painful

Fact: Botox injections normally cause very minimal discomfort, even if you have multiple injection sites. The brief discomfort that can be experienced upon injection has often been compared to the pain you might experience with a typical mosquito bite. This is probably because of the incredibly thin needle that is used for the injection.

The pain is totally manageable, which is probably why you may have also heard Botox referred to as the “lunchtime injection” because it’s a quick and relatively painless procedure with little to no downtime.

There are also some steps you can take to prepare yourself for your first Botox treatment which can including icing the area before and after treatment—this is something we can do together and I can talk you through the process—and it’s also a good practice to simply breathe deeply and remind yourself to relax and rid your body of tension as much as possible. If you do find yourself to be in an uncomfortable amount of pain during the Botox injections never hesitate to let your provider know!

As a side note when considering treatment, be sure to ask about the differences between Botox and Dermal Fillers because they work differently. It is true that they both lessen the appearance of wrinkles, but they do not function the same. Botox relaxes wrinkle-creating muscles, while fillers restore and volumize facial tissue to give you a more youthful look.

Myth: BOTOX Works Instantly

Fact: You may notice some slight changes right away, depending on the injection site. Perhaps your eyelids will appear more lifted or you’ll see fewer fine lines and wrinkles, but it’s important to remember that Botox isn’t a magic potion. The full results of your treatment can take up to two weeks, so be patient with yourself and set your expectations accordingly.

Botox does not erase all wrinkles and cannot treat those caused by sun damage. The lines that will best respond to Botox are those that have been created by repetitive movement—such as squinting your eyes or furrowing your brow. These are referred to as dynamic wrinkles, whereas the other lines are called static wrinkles. If you have deep dynamic wrinkles these can also take multiple procedures to treat before the desired results are achieved.

That said, if you’re looking to get Botox in Albuquerque for a special occasion or time-sensitive engagement you really want to plan ahead. We can create a plan of action at your consult so you can look and feel like your fabulous self at your upcoming event!

Botox is not permanent and the effects can last anywhere from 4 to 7 months. While some people may worry that the results will not be noticeable enough, the most common misconception about the outcome of Botox is that it freezes your facial expressions and prevents you from conveying your emotions.

We’ve all see the tabloid magazine that depicts Hollywood stars who look like their face has been frozen in place or they’ve been thrown through a wind tunnel, but don’t let this scare you! It’s crucial to discuss your desired outcome with your provider. At Freya’s Lair Medical Spa our goal is always to enhance your natural beauty, not change it.

You may also be concerned that if you stop getting Botox after one or more treatments your wrinkles will worsen, but this just isn’t true. If you keep up with your injections this will prevent your wrinkles from worsening and if you decide to stop they will simply return to how they were. The relaxing effects that Botox has on the muscles will gradually go away and as they regain their normal movement, the wrinkles will continue to develop.

MYTH: You should consider Botox when you begin noticing lines and wrinkles

Fact: False! More and more, the benefits of using Botox as a preventive treatment are being recognized among medical professional and in the media. It can be harder to smooth out the appearance of wrinkles once they’ve already formed than to get ahead of the game and treat them before they become more visible and severe.

Do you have a question or concern about Botox?

Leave it in the comments and we’ll let you know if it’s Fact or Fiction!
